Potential Astrological Placements of Jax
I've heard my kids talking about The Amazing Digital Circus for a while now, a show I very much assumed was just another kiddie cartoon. After months of begging, they finally convinced me to sit down and watch it and WOW. The first thing I noticed as a writing enthusiast was how brilliantly these characters are written. Not to mention, I cried like a baby. I know a lot of people didn't enjoy the depth of the last two episodes, but I appreciated the opportunity to get even closer to these cleverly written characters. Naturally, he would be the first single character I explore since he talks about archetypes in the show. He claims to be the “funny” one, but I think that by creating a chart for Jax, we will see something much deeper. So let's talk about some astrological archetype patterns and behaviors I observe in Jax.
As always, these observations are completely opinion-based. They are simply my personal interpretations based on my own experience studying behavior and Vedic astrology.
The first thing I want to highlight is their Sun and Moon, which I believe are in conjunction. When I see this conjunction, I usually see people who appear very transparent. What you see is what you get. Or is it? We'll expand on that in a bit, because we don’t get exactly that from Jax, but I do think there is an astrological reason for it. They project as a Gemini Sun and process life through a Gemini Moon. Jax does not keep their thoughts to themselves, especially when it comes to what they think about everyone else. They're direct, sarcastic, and sometimes rude as hell. They are also surprisingly manipulative. Jax is very good at coercing situations to create outcomes that benefit them, and doing so maliciously is clearly not off the table. This is where I think we begin to see the shadow side of a Gemini Sun-Moon conjunction emerge. There is a cleverness to their behavior, but also a cruelty. What gives this placement its darker expression, in my opinion, is the house it falls in. I personally think this conjunction is occurring in the 8th House.
The 8th House deals with transformation, yes, but also trust, vulnerability, emotional exposure, and intimacy. These are all areas where Jax seems deeply uncomfortable. Every time a situation moves toward something genuine, they appear compelled to disrupt it. Truly getting in their own way of an intimate connection. They use humor, insults, manipulation, and emotional distance to keep people from getting too close. I also think this conjunction falls in Ardra Nakshatra. Ardra is symbolized by the teardrop and is ruled by Rudra, a fierce form of Shiva associated with destruction and transformation. While many people focus on the emotional symbolism of Ardra, I think Jax expresses it through destruction. They talk constantly, yet somehow remain the least understood character in the entire cast. They tell us what they think about everyone else, but reveal almost nothing about themselves. The more they talk, the less anyone actually seems to know about them.
If we place Gemini in the 8th House, that would make Jax a Scorpio Ascendant, which I think doubles down on my first assessment being so fitting. Scorpio Ascendants are very guarded. They value privacy. They can deal with suspicion and have difficulty trusting others. We see Jax check several of these boxes throughout the series. They don’t allow themselves to be emotionally vulnerable. Abstracting is a more comfortable option than opening up to someone again.
I could also make an argument for Rahu conjunct the Ascendant. Rahu tends to amplify whatever it touches and can create distortions in perception. We see this play out when Jax completely fabricates the idea that Ribbit is using their story against them. Which never really happens, but in their mind, it is very real. If Rahu is sitting on the Ascendant, that would place Ketu in the 7th House. This could help explain their tendency to detach from partnerships and meaningful connections. While the other characters seem to crave understanding, Jax repeatedly distances themselves from that experience. Whether that is because they truly don't care or because they care more than they let on remains one of the biggest questions surrounding their character.
Another placement I would give Jax is Jupiter in the 3rd House in Capricorn. At first glance, you might look at Jupiter in the 3rd House and think, "Wow, this person must be a great communicator." The truth is, they are. Jax is hilarious, quick-witted, and many people's favorite character for that exact reason. However, their words are often sharp. Remember that Jupiter, the planet of abundance, positivity, wisdom, and expansion, is debilitated in Capricorn. When Jupiter falls in Capricorn, Saturn's influence tends to become much stronger. Instead of expanding freely, Jupiter becomes more cautious, restrained, and calculated. We can see this in the way Jax communicates. They are intelligent and observant, but they rarely use their words to uplift others. Instead, they often use them as a shield or a weapon. Their communication is disciplined, but not necessarily open. Saturn's influence can create restrictions, and sometimes those restrictions become self-imposed. While discipline has its place, some things should not be denied. Vulnerability and meaningful connection are among them.
In the end, it was both nice and deeply unsettling to learn that the Amazing Digital Circus cast is only a mere fraction of the people they come from. The cast is full of characters rich with emotional complexity, and I genuinely enjoyed picking Jax apart. The more I analyzed them, the more layers I found. For a character who spends so much time joking, provoking, and pushing others away, there is an incredible amount of depth hidden there. Gooseworx and Glitch really created a masterpiece. Not only is it visually creative, but it is also packed with fascinating characters, emotional complexity, and surprisingly powerful storytelling.
