      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Aries: Carrie White</image:title>
      <image:caption>I know Aries Moons are stereotyped as hot headed and aggressive, but Carrie is a great example of what happens when anger is suppressed. For most of the story, Carrie isn't allowed to express herself. She's bullied at school, controlled at home, and taught to fear her instincts. Every humiliation is swallowed instead of dealt with. Then comes prom. The famous ending isn't about revenge to me. It's about years of rage, hurt, humiliation, and powerlessness reaching a breaking point. Everything she's been carrying (see what I did there) pours out all at once. The result feels so devastating because there was never a healthy outlet for those feelings in the first place.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Taurus: Annie Wilkes</image:title>
      <image:caption>Annie Wilkes is the kind of person who doesn't understand the phrase "it's not that serious." To Annie, it is that serious. The Misery books aren't just books to her. They are part of her routine and the world she has built for herself. When Paul decides to kill off the character, Annie takes it personally. That's what makes her feel so Taurus Moon to me. Once Annie decides something belongs in her life, she holds onto it tightly. The problem is life changes whether we like it or not, and Annie doesn't handle that well. Most people leave a bad book review and move on. Annie had other ideas.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Gemini: Ghost Face</image:title>
      <image:caption>One reason I love Ghostface for Gemini Moon is that Ghostface isn't a person. It's an identity passed from one killer to the next. Every time you think you've figured out who Ghostface is, the mask comes off and somebody else is underneath. Then it happens again. And again. The taunting, the games, the constant back and forth. Ghostface doesn't just kill people. Ghostface likes the conversation. There is always another version of the story, another perspective, another person hiding behind the mask. The real question with Ghostface is is less "Who is the killer?" and more "Which one?" Because apparently one Ghostface wasn't enough.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Cancer: Norman Bates</image:title>
      <image:caption>Norman Bates is what happens when the line between nurturing and control becomes completely blurred. Everything about Norman revolves around his relationship with his mother. Even after her death, she continues to shape his identity. There is no clear boundary between where Norman ends and where Mother begins. Norman takes Cancerian shadow traits to a terrifying extreme. What should have been a source of comfort becomes all consuming. At a certain point you have to ask, Norman, have you considered literally any coping mechanism besides this?</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Leo: Freddy Krueger</image:title>
      <image:caption>Okay, but how theatrical is Freddy? Talk about a guy with an imagination. This man comes up with some of the most ridiculous and over the top psychological scenarios imaginable. Half the time it feels like he's less interested in killing people and more interested in putting on a show. It's kind of self centered. Every nightmare revolves around him. That's part of why he reminds me of Leo Moon. Everything has to be more dramatic than necessary. Also, why does he do all of this while people are sleeping? Most people use dreams to process their emotions. Freddy uses them as a stage?</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Virgo: Patrick Bateman</image:title>
      <image:caption>Patrick Bateman notices everything. He obsesses over business cards, reservations, status symbols, and the tiniest details that nobody else would even notice. Everything has to be just right. I mean, come on, his skincare routine has more steps than most people's morning commute. He's constantly measuring, comparing, analyzing, and finding flaws. Honestly, half the movie is Patrick having a meltdown because somebody else has a slightly nicer business card. This is a man who literally puts on a raincoat before murdering someone because he doesn't want blood on his clothes.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Libra: Tiffany Valentine</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tiffany Valentine is so iconic. I mean, first and foremost, she's an absolute babe. But what really sells me on Tiffany as a Libra Moon is that The Bride of Chucky is basically one giant relationship story. Through an astrological lens, Libra is associated with partnership, commitment, and the deals we make with others. Tiffany spends the entire movie trying to build a relationship with Chucky, even when every possible sign is telling her that this is a terrible idea. The woman is literally trying to make a toxic relationship work with a serial killer doll. We have to acknowledge that the red flags were there. But like every good Libra coded individual, she thinks she can change him. Spoiler alert. She cannot. Still, Tiffany has that classic Libra charm. She's charismatic, romantic, and somehow manages to make even the most dysfunctional relationship look appealing for at least five minutes.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Scorpio: Samara Morgan</image:title>
      <image:caption>At first, The Ring feels like a mystery. You watch the tape, weird things happen, and then people start dying? I mean, that is simple enough. Except the deeper you dig, the stranger it gets. What makes Samara feel so Scorpio Moon to me is that her real motive is buried underneath layers and layers of secrets. She isn't just killing people for no reason. She wants her story told. Even when you figure out what happened to her, the curse doesn't stop. The solution ends up being hidden inside the curse itself. And can we talk about how insane that is for a second? Nowhere in the tape does it say, "Make a copy and show it to someone else." People just eventually figure out that's the only way to survive. Everything about Samara is buried beneath the surface. Very Scorpio.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Sagittarius: Pennywise</image:title>
      <image:caption>Pennywise is probably my wild card pick, but hear me out. Pennywise is a cosmic entity trapped in the same town, repeating the same cycle over and over again. Every few decades he wakes up, terrorizes the town, feeds, and then goes back to sleep. For a creature that is supposedly ancient and powerful, it's kind of a miserable existence. Sagittarius is associated with freedom, exploration, growth, and movement. Pennywise has none of those things. He's stuck. Same town. Same cycle. Same hunt. And who does he target? Children. The very people who represent freedom, imagination, curiosity, and possibility. Children still believe anything can happen. They haven't been boxed in by the world yet. There is something almost bitter about that. Like Pennywise sees everything he's lost reflected back at him. A spirit that can no longer grow, move, or evolve eventually becomes trapped in its own cycle. That is for sure the manifestation of a badly placed Sagittarius moon.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6840dbb3d009666c7aadca18/3b661081-0c90-422d-8f64-185e8c011ee1/11+%282%29.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Capricorn: Michael Myers</image:title>
      <image:caption>If Michael Myers decides he's doing something, he's doing it. Michael just picks a target and keeps going. It doesn't matter how many times he's shot, stabbed, hit by a car, thrown off a building, or otherwise inconvenienced. The man simply refuses to quit. That is seriously giving Capricorn Moon determination. After a while it starts to get ridiculous. Every movie somebody thinks they've finally stopped him, looks away for five seconds, and then he's gone. Apparently Michael Myers always has somewhere to be.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/6840dbb3d009666c7aadca18/505a06b3-3441-445f-89e9-6f75ed6dec65/12+%282%29.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Aquarius: Art the Clown</image:title>
      <image:caption>I really hate to hit a cliché, but Art? What an absolute weirdo. (In the best way.) I mean, come on. He's the ultimate alienesque horror villain. I've watched all the Terrifier movies multiple times, and I still don't entirely know what this guy's deal is. Where did he come from? What exactly is he? Why is he like this? That's part of why he reminds me of Aquarius Moon. Art feels completely disconnected from normal human behavior. Hell, he's not even normal demonic behavior. And yet he somehow manages to get a demonic follower in that creepy little girl, Art. Talk about 11th house influence. Half the time he seems like he's operating on a set of rules that only make sense to him. He's so unsettling. Most horror villains have motives you can eventually understand. Art just leaves you sitting there with more questions than answers.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Horror Icons as Moon Sign Archetypes - Pisces: Pearl</image:title>
      <image:caption>Pearl, Pearl, Pearl. Slightly delusional, huh? This girl has an entire life planned out in her head. She's going to be a star. She's going to leave the farm. She's going to have the life she deserves. The problem is that absolutely none of it is happening. Pearl Girl. You dreamin’. She spends so much time imagining the life she wants that she can't accept the one she's actually living. The more reality refuses to cooperate, the more disillusioned she becomes. Every rejection feels personal because it's crushing her fantasy. At some point, Pearl becomes more invested in the life she's imagined than the one sitting right in front of her. Pearly, you can’t start solving problems with an axe because you disappointed.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Aries: Hades</image:title>
      <image:caption>Hades is a hothead. No, literally, his head is on fire. For the shadow side of Aries, it doesn't get much more obvious than that. Hades is impatient, reactive, competitive, and absolutely incapable of letting things go when they don't go his way. Every setback becomes personal. His emotions move fast, and his temper moves even faster. The Mars energy comes through strongly in his communication style as well. No fluff, no sugar coating, and absolutely no beating around the bush. Hades says exactly what he thinks and expects everyone else to keep up. What makes him such a great Aries shadow is that he now weak, passive, or incapable. In fact, he's incredibly competent. His downfall is that his own anger, impulsiveness, and inability to control his reactions constantly sabotage him.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Taurus: Tamatoa</image:title>
      <image:caption>Okay, let me just be real for a second. Taurus was the hardest one for me to match to a villain because, frankly, the shadow side of Venus ruled Taurus is usually less dramatic than some of the other signs. It is more often a kind of mindless self indulgence. Sure, Tamatoa hits the greed and selfishness of loving all things shiny. That definitely demonstrates the luxury loving side of Taurus Moon. But I had to think a little deeper than that. I think what adds an even more emotionally complex layer to Taurus is attachment. Taurus does not like to let go. Whether it is possessions, comfort, pleasure, status, routines, or even old versions of itself, this sign can become deeply attached to what feels good and familiar. Tamatoa literally surrounds himself with treasures and builds his entire identity around what he owns. Strip away the comedy, and there is actually a pretty strong Taurus shadow there. The fear that without all the shiny things, there is nothing left underneath. And can I just say, the fact that he casually talks about eating his own grandma is both hilarious and somehow very Taurus Moon coded. If there is food involved, all bets are off.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Gemini: Yzma</image:title>
      <image:caption>I picked Yzma to show the shadow side of the Gemini Moon. She is talkative, intelligent, witty, and quick-thinking, but also shows how those gifts can manipulate others. While after Kuzco’s throne, she presents herself as a loyal advisor and friend while secretly plotting. This is where the Mercury energy comes through. Gemini is associated with communication, strategy, ideas, and adaptability. Yzma is constantly thinking, planning, and finding a new way forward when things do not go as planned. Her mind is her greatest weapon. The shadow side appears when intelligence turns into schemes and communication becomes deception. Yzma shows the darker expression of using words, knowledge, and perception not to connect, but to control the situation around her.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Cancer: Lady Tremaine</image:title>
      <image:caption>I know that sounds strange at first. Most people hear Cancer Moon and immediately think nurturing, gentle, and protective. Lady Tremaine shows what happens when those instincts become possessive, resentful, and emotionally controlling. Everything she does revolves around family loyalty. Her daughters come first, whether they deserve what she tries to give them or not. She views Cinderella as a threat to their security and status, which fuels her cruelty. What stands out is how passive her villainy feels. She doesn’t charge into battle or seek power for its own sake. She operates through guilt, obligation, emotional pressure, and manipulation. She controls the home’s atmosphere and uses that control to keep Cinderella in her place.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Leo: Gaston</image:title>
      <image:caption>This one is pretty clear. Gaston is pure Leo Moon shadow to me. He is showy, boastful, attention hungry, and consumed by his own ego. He genuinely believes that because everyone else wants him, Belle should, too. In his mind, rejection is insulting. He cannot handle it. Instead of accepting that Belle is not interested, he turns her rejection into a personal insult. He plots an entire revenge scheme to hurt Belle as his feelings were hurt, all while presenting himself as the hero. In his mind, he is still the good guy. He still deserves admiration, praise, and the happy ending. Gaston cannot handle not being desired, so he turns humiliation into revenge. He does not just want Belle. He wants validation as the man Belle chose. Once he loses that, his obsession becomes restoring his pride.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Virgo: The Evil Queen</image:title>
      <image:caption>Virgo Moons are often associated with improvement, refinement, and high standards. The shadow side is that those standards can become impossible to satisfy. Nobody embodies this better than the Evil Queen. Her downfall begins with one question that she didnt like the answer to. She needs constant confirmation that she is the fairest in the land. When she learns that someone else has surpassed her, she becomes obsessed. What stands out is how calculated she is. Her plans are deliberate and carefully executed. She does not act out of raw emotion. Snow White was never really the problem. It was the Queen's inability to accept imperfection.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Libra: Cruella de Vil</image:title>
      <image:caption>Cruella was another easy one. She's stylish, iconic, charming, and obsessed with aesthetics. Sure, her choices get her into a tizzy, but at the end of the day, she's just a girl who wants to make a fashion statement. Obviously, the way she plans to achieve that goal is morally questionable, but her motivations are surprisingly simple. She wants beauty. She wants luxury. She wants to create something unforgettable. Her charm has her henchmen completely at her beck and call. Despite her outrageous demands, people still follow her. There is something undeniably magnetic about her. The desire to create something beautiful becomes more important than the people or puppies it affects.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Scorpio: Dr. Facilier</image:title>
      <image:caption>A lot of Disney villains want power, but Dr. Facilier understands it. He knows where people's weaknesses lie. He gives them what they think they want and lets them walk into the trap themselves. What makes him such a Scorpio Moon to me is his relationship with hidden forces. He operates in the shadows, works through secrets, and constantly deals in debts, exchanges, and consequences. Everything has a price. His connection to the occult world reinforces this archetype. He willingly works with powers most people fear, treating the unseen as a tool to gain influence and control. He is also patient. He does not need to be the loudest person in the room because he knows he can influence events from behind the curtain. He understands the darker side of human nature and uses that knowledge for his own gain.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Sagittarius: Captain Hook</image:title>
      <image:caption>I think Hook shows us the shadow side of this archetype. He is restless, larger-than-life, and constantly chasing something just out of reach. What stands out is that Hook cannot let go of the hunt. His entire life revolves around pursuing Peter Pan. He could be sailing the seas, exploring new horizons, and living freely, but instead he becomes consumed by a personal crusade. The irony is that the sign most associated with freedom becomes trapped by obsession. There is something very Sagittarius Moon about his theatrical nature. Hook is dramatic, expressive, and convinced his perspective is correct. He sees himself as the wronged party and turns that belief into a lifelong mission. The search for meaning becomes the inability to move on.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Capricorn: Jafar</image:title>
      <image:caption>More than anything, Jafar wants to climb. He is not satisfied with influence, proximity to power, or being the Sultan's advisor. He wants to be at the top. Every decision he makes aims to gain more authority, more control, and a higher position than he currently holds. That ambition is what makes him such a Capricorn moon to me. Unlike villains driven by emotion or revenge, Jafar feels more calculated, with his eyes fixed on power. Even when he gains power, he immediately wants more. Nothing is ever enough because there is always another rung to climb.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Aquarius: Maleficent</image:title>
      <image:caption>What immediately stands out about Maleficent is that she doesn't seem interested in being part of the kingdom. She lives separately, does her own thing, and follows her own rules. There is a strong outsider quality to her that feels very Aquarius Moon. And honestly, what could be more Aquarius Moon than showing up to a party you weren't invited to and cursing a baby? It is such an unconventional response. Most villains would start a fight or demand revenge right away. Maleficent creates a curse that unfolds over years and changes the course of everyone's lives. She carries herself with emotional distance. She often feels removed from what is happening around her, almost like observing everything from the outside rather than participating. The desire to stand apart becomes the belief that normal rules do not apply to you.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>

      <image:title>Archetype Archive - Disney Villains as Moon Sign Archetypes - Pisces: Ursula</image:title>
      <image:caption>Now, I know. Y'all are going to come for me and say, "Del, why isn't Ursula Scorpio Moon?" Hear me out. She's a Pisces Moon. When I think of Ursula, I don't think about power, revenge, or control first. I think about temptation, fantasy, dreams, and escape. Ursula makes a living selling people the life they wish they had. She paints a picture of a different reality and lets Ariel convince herself. That's what feels so Pisces Moon to me. Ursula understands longing, desire, and the part of people that wants something so badly they ignore every warning sign. She is also incredibly fluid. She adapts to whoever she's talking to, tells people exactly what they want to hear, and slips into different roles when it benefits her. There is something shapeshifting about her energy that feels much more Pisces than Scorpio to me. The real danger with Ursula isn't that she overpowers people. It's that she gets them to willingly hand over exactly what she wants.</image:caption>
