Jupiter in Vedic Astrology
We’ve finally made it to the largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter. In Vedic astrology, Jupiter is known as Guru or Brihaspati. He is the great teacher of the grahas, representing wisdom, knowledge, faith, and expansion. Jupiter shows where we grow, what gives our lives meaning, and the beliefs that guide us through life.
Physically, Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, measuring about 86,881 miles across. Although Jupiter is the biggest planet, the Sun remains the largest graha. Jupiter takes about 12 years to travel through the zodiac, spending roughly one year in each sign. The planet is famous for the Great Red Spot, a storm larger than Earth that has been raging for centuries. With dozens of moons orbiting around it, Jupiter almost resembles a miniature solar system, making its association with growth and expansion feel especially fitting.
