Taurus

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac and is associated with family and resources. Notice how I said resources, not just money. Where Aries is the initiation, Taurus is the preservation. But I don't want this to turn into another boring textbook blog about Taurus energy because, honestly, that's not what interests me. Instead, I have two questions I want to pose.

First, who decided Taurus was lazy? I mean...seriously. Where did that come from? Sure, Taurus enjoys comfort and indulgence. But are those really the same thing as laziness? Without getting too deep into nakshatra lore, the very first nakshatra in Taurus is associated with determination, leadership, and building. Bruh, them ain’t lazy skills. LOL . Think about someone who spends thirty years building a business from absolutely nothing. They sacrifice sleep, take risks, solve problems, and slowly build a life they're proud of. Then one day they retire, buy a beautiful home, travel the world, eat incredible food, and finally enjoy everything they spent decades creating. Are they lazy? Or are they simply enjoying the life they worked so hard to build? To me, that's Taurus.

They're not lazy. They understand self preservation. They know when it's time to work, and they know when it's time to rest. Honestly...that's a form of self-care. I think we also have to remember that Venus, the ruler of Taurus, isn't afraid of the material world. Venus is Rajas. It teaches us how to experience life. Beauty, comfort, pleasure, art, food, music, relationships, luxury...these all belong to Venus. None of them are inherently shallow. They're part of being human. It's only when enjoyment becomes obsession or attachment that the energy begins expressing itself in an unhealthy way. Which brings me to my second question.

Who decided all Taurus people are loyal? 😂

Now don't come over here and get your feelings hurt. I'm not saying Taurus isn't loyal. I'm saying I think we've handed out some pretty broad stereotypes based on a single placement. Especially when we’re just talking about a sun sign. The second nakshatra in Taurus, Rohini, is one of the most sensual, creative, magnetic, and beautiful nakshatras in the zodiac. According to mythology, it was even the Moon's favorite. That's a very different conversation than simply saying, "Taurus equals loyalty."

I actually think the loyalty stereotype comes from Taurus being a fixed sign. Taurus invests. It doesn't like unnecessary change. If it finds something it genuinely values, it will often work very hard to keep it. again WORK.

Venus was the guru to the Asuras. And let's not even jump to “Venus is evil.” That's not what I said. It's because Venus understands the material world and experience itself. Jupiter teaches righteousness and wisdom, and Venus teaches how to fully participate in life. Neither is better than the other. They just teach different things. That's why I don't think it's surprising that Taurus can sometimes express itself through indulgence, attraction, beauty, or even temptation.

So...are Taurus people lazy? Are they loyal?

The point is it’ll never be that cut and dry like mainstream astrology makes it seem. It depends on the house, nakshatra, the planets involved, the aspects. The whole chart. Could you absolutely find a Taurus placement that's incredibly devoted? Of course. Could you also find one that's charming, flirtatious, and indulgent? Also of course. That's why I think reducing an entire sign to one personality trait does astrology a disservice.
